21UPTV AND TALKING BOWLS RADIO
Exciting times are on the way this coming season with 21UPTV planning to cover many LMRCA matches. The profile of the club and the game in general has received a much needed boost with the added attraction of 'TALKING BOWLS', a regular Sunday evening web based tv/radio phone in chat show devoted entirely to the game in the Stockport area. The show, fronted by two LMRCA lads, Jamie Bramley and Don Marsden, goes out every Sunday evening from 8 till 10pm. MEET THE PLAYERS
THE SQUAD 2008
Captain – Les Myatt (The Engine Driver)......
Skipper Les Myatt founded the club and is a master tactician.
Last year Les skippered the team to the C Division League title and now looks to build a squad capable of playing in the top tier of Stockport bowls.
Bryan Allcock (Sausage and Mash)..................................................
Bryan is Mr Reliable and will always give the team 100% often pulling out vital chalks when it matters. If you hear him thigh slapping then more than likely he is struggling.
Jack Bramley (Jack).........................................................................
Jack Bramley is a bowler with lots of expereince and is used as holiday/illness cover for when the team is short.
Jamie Bramley (The Pea Launcher).......................................
Jamie is a relatively young member and joined the club last season and played a part in helping the team gain promotion in 2007 he is affectionately known as The Pea Launcher.
Dennis Brooks (
Dennis is another reliable perfomer who travels from Barnsley to show his love for the club. Super Dennis grabbed the win that sealed the club promotion at Victoria last season.
Craig Butterfield (Butty)..................................................................
Craig is an expereinced player who always gives 100% and a fantastic striking ability. It would be fair to say Craig would get into any team.
Dave Easley (Thomas The Tank)............................................
David Easley has sadly quit the club due to work committments.
Geoff Hollis (Geoff).........................................................................
Geoff plays for both the LMRCA mens night team and the veterans and is extremely reliable and consistent whereever he bowls
Don Marsden (Signalman or Marsy).......................................
Marsy is a fantastic bowler who provides invaluable support to the team both on and off the green. He helped the side gain promotion in 2007 and has started 2008 in the same brilliant form.
Paul Murphy (Big Blue or The Murphster).....................................
Dont need to say anymore LEGEND
Ian Myatt (Striker).................................................................
Super Striker was on fire last season in helping the team gain promotion from C Division he is extremely hard to beat on his beloved Rail and won the teams merit last season.
John Newbold (Kekky)....................................................................
Now an LMRCA legend Kekky has reached peak form in the last 12 months and was an integral cog in last seasons championship winning team.
Andy Raistrick (Andy).....................................................................
Andy has yet to feature in 2008 but his performances in helping the teams rise up the divisions suggest it wont be long before he breaks into the first team.
Keith Robins (Tother Peg)......................................................
Has now left the club to join James Norths due to lack of first team opportunities.
Steve Smith (Smithy).......................................................................
Steve Smith will show you a good joke on his mobile phone and then go on the green and play his heart out for the teams cause. He played nearly all the games in last years title winning team.
Mick Tocher (Tic Toc).........................................................................
I dont think Tic Toc has ever been on the green and not tried his socks off. Very reliable and wins more games than he loses a valuble member of the squad
Billy Waddington (Billy or Billy Wad)................................................
Billy improved with every game last season and was high up in the 2007 averages list. He will again give the team some invaluble wins 2008.
Dave Wardle (Oil Rag).............................................................
The master statstician that is Dave Wardle was on fire in 2007 and gives the team a great lift at the side of the green as well he has began 2008 in good form.
Pete Smith (The Baliff)......................................................................
Peter is a new member although he has yet to play a game for the club.
